Funky Akindele’s “Omo Ghetto” (The Saga) has officially broken a record to attain Nollywood’s highest-grossing film of all time within 3 weeks.
The movie mogul had produced the movie and released it to the cinemas on the 25th of December 2020.
“Omo Ghetto” has broken the four-year record of “The Wedding Party” which held that position with N453,000,000 and the third place “The Wedding Party 2” produced by Kemi Adetiba.
The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria in a statement noted that Omo Ghetto (The Saga) is holding the number one spot for its third week in a row with its gross as B468,036,300.
Omo Ghetto (The Saga) is a sequel to 2010 Omo Ghetto which surround the shambolic life of Shalewa (Lefty).
The 2020 movie shows the life of Lefty after she and her twin Ayomide was adopted by their wealth mother. Lefty battles with life from the Ghetto and that of wealth.
