Nollywood actor and Rapper, Ernest Azuzu has reportedly died Tuesday night after slumping.

The news was made known this morning by the wife, Jennifer Asuzu who also said his corpse is already on its way to the East. The news was later confirmed by Emeka Rollas, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

He was said to be 45 or 46 years old.

Ernest Asuzu hailed from Imo State but born and bred in Lagos. He attended Aje Comprehensive High School Lagos and later Institute Of Management And Technology (IMT) Enugu. Ernest came to limelight in the mid-2000s during which he acted in a popular Nollywood film “Rituals”. He was also a rapper with the stage name El Creamy.

His career took a downward turn after he suffered a stroke in 2015 which affected his speech and physical coherence. He had been battling other related health issues since then which had wrecked him financially to the point of begging on the streets of Lagos. This low point in his life attracted sympathy among colleagues and the general public who tried in many ways to assist him.

The gestures paid off a bit and last year December he staged a comeback concert with an album launch somewhere in Bucknor Estate, Ejigbo, Lagos state.

Asuzu was also planning a movie production for January 2021 and in the past two weeks had been holding meetings with actors and other filmmakers. Little did he know he would not live to execute such plans.

Asuzu was known to be a fine actor and a good rapper with so much creativity embodied in him. But his health was a militating factor. A bundle of talent wasted. No wonder he saw his condition as “spiritual”.

May his soul rest in peace.
