Tinsel notable actor, Victor Olaotan has died at the age of 69.
This news was confirmed in the early hours of this morning when his wife, Julia Olaotan said the veteran actor died around 7 PM on Thursday. She added that “He has tried. It is not easy to be trapped in your own body for five years. He can finally rest now,”
Victor Olaotan had been suffering a traumatic brain injury after a ghastly auto-crash sometime in 2016 on his way to a location in Lagos. He was said to be unconscious for a long time during his medical treatment which was taking a toll on his family, his career and his finances. At a point, Billionaire oil mogul, Femi Otedola intervened to fly him abroad for better medical attention in Turkey. But it seems the help later ceased as could be deduced from the wife’s statement in her brief statement to the Press:
“Victor Olaotan has passed on, I don’t take the help rendered us for granted. Sadly, Olaotan had to come back to Nigeria because we could no more raise the money to continue treatment, so the hospital sent him back. I’m grateful for my husband’s life and I know all is well.
“Despite the challenges, God has been good to me and my family. He was there for five years,” Julia said tearfully.
Victor Olaotan was a Nigerian veteran actor and lead character of the popular Soap opera, Tinsel, best known for his role as Fred Ade-Williams. Olaotan also featured in many Nigerian movies which include Towo Tomo, Lovestruck, Three Wise Men, Lotanna, Remember Me and Voiceless Scream.
