FELA KUTI NOMINATED FOR 2021 ROCK n ROLL HALL OF FAME – By Mary Abazuo

Nigeria’s Late afrobeat legend Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Ransome-Kuti, a.k.a Fela Anikulapo Kuti is nominated for the 2021 Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
The announcement which was made today on the official Twitter page of Rock Hall (@rockhall) included renowned artiste like Mary J.Blige, Kate Bush, Devo, LL Cool J, Jay Z, Tina Turner, Foo Fighters and others. 
Previous inductees include Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston who got inducted after their death in 2020.


It is believed that Fela Kuti’s induction will make him the first Nigerian to be in the Rock n Roll Hall of fame.
“This remarkable ballot reflects the diversity and depths of the artists and music the Rock n Roll of fans celebrates”, John Skyles, Chairman of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Foundation said.


“These nominees have left an indelible impact on the sonic landscape of the world and influenced countless artists that have followed them”, he added. 
The winners of the 36th Annual Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony set to take place in Cleveland Ohio will be inducted in May 2021.
Other nominees of the awards are; The Go-Go’s, Iron Maiden, Chaka Khan, Carolo King, New York Dolls, Rage Against the Machine, Todd Rundgren and Dionne Warwick.
